Congresswoman Nancy,
Please visit the Ray Buenaventura Memorial Elementary School in Icdang Village outside of Kidapawan City, which has an enrollment of 60 percent tribal members. I started a project in the USA to raise funds to feed the children and provide school supplies there for the past 2 years.
However, donations have dropped off here and that project is now dependent on your support.
I hope and pray you will find a may to continue to provide school meals for the wonderful children there.
God bless & ingat,
Bruce Warren

This is idea is both exciting and a bit too naive.

For one thing, a formalized tribal community makes it easier not only for anthropological and ethno-cultural researchers to get information, it will also make the preservation of the culture more plausible. To fully achieve these two benefits, I humbly suggest a library of transcriptions of local wisdom (viz folk myths, rituals, knowledge on medicinal plants, local bestiary etc.).

But this idea, wonderful as it may be, still has problems to be addressed. will the town to be formed be exclusively for one tribe? will it include all tribes under the umbrella term "Lumad?" The terms need to be properly delineated and justified.

Good luck, Ma'am and may this wonderful idea be successful!
(PS: May I get a copy of the bill when it's already been drafted? thank you in advance!)
